CNC Machinist - Turner ?? Poole, Dorset An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced CNC Programmer / Setter / Operator to join a busy and growing machine shop in Poole. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a precision engineering environment and takes pride in producing high-quality components to tight tolerances. You will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC lathes, ensuring components are manufactured efficiently, accurately and to the highest quality standards. The Role Working as part of a skilled manufacturing team, your responsibilities will include: Programming, setting and operating CNC lathes. Producing precision-engineered components from technical drawings and specifications. Optimising programs to improve efficiency and cycle times. Selecting and setting tooling and work-holding equipment. Monitoring machining processes and making adjustments where required. Carrying out first-off and in-process inspections using measuring equipment, including micrometers, verniers and gauges. Ensuring all components meet quality standards and specified tolerances. Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment. Following all company health and safety procedures. About You To be successful in this role, you will have: Previous experience as a CNC Programmer, Setter and Operator. Strong CNC turning experience. The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Experience working to close tolerances and quality standards. Excellent attention to detail. Good problem-solving abilities. The ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience with Sliding Head CNC machines (Citizen, Tornos or similar) would be highly advantageous, although candidates with strong CNC turning backgrounds will also be considered. Working Hours Monday to Thursday 07:00 - 16:00 30-minute unpaid lunch break Two paid 10-minute tea breaks Friday 07:00 - 12:00 One paid tea break Total paid hours: 39 hours per week Salary
