SharePoint Platform SME
SharePoint Server Subscription Edition | Inside IR35 | ASAP Start | Contract until January 2027
We're partnering with a prestigious London-based law firm to secure an experienced SharePoint Platform SME to take ownership of the firm's SharePoint Server Subscription Edition platform. This is a fantastic opportunity for a SharePoint specialist with strong platform, infrastructure and administration expertise to support a business-critical collaboration environment.
This role is primarily focused on platform maintenance, optimisation, governance and support , rather than development. While predominantly remote, candidates should be willing and able to travel to London on occasion for stakeholder meetings, workshops and project activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the Subject Matter Expert for the SharePoint Server Subscription Edition platform.
- Manage the ongoing maintenance, health, performance and availability of the SharePoint environment.
- Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve platform-related issues.
- Perform platform upgrades, patching and configuration management.
- Manage SharePoint security, permissions and governance.
- Support business and technical teams with platform-related queries and improvements.
- Work closely with infrastructure, security and application teams to ensure platform stability and compliance.
- Contribute to future platform strategy, best practice and roadmap planning.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience supporting and administering SharePoint Server Subscription Edition .
- Deep understanding of SharePoint architecture, farm administration and platform maintenance.
- Experience with SharePoint patching, upgrades, backup and recovery processes.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, IIS and PowerShell.
- Experience managing SharePoint security, permissions and governance.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex platform issues.
- Excellent stakeholder and communication skills.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365.
- Knowledge of SharePoint migration and hybrid environments.
- Experience within legal, professional services or other highly regulated environments.
- Familiarity with Azure and wider Microsoft collaboration technologies.
