We are seeking experienced Marine Pipefitters to support a vessel fit-out programme in Cowes, Isle of Wight. Working on a series of newly built pilot boats, you will be involved in the installation, fabrication and commissioning of a variety of marine piping systems during the final stages of production.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Installation of marine pipework systems onboard vessels.
  • Fabrication, fitting and assembly of pipe runs and associated components.
  • Installation of hydraulic, fuel, water, waste, ventilation and air-conditioning systems.
  • Measuring, cutting, bending, threading and preparing pipework for installation.
  • Assembly of steel, aluminium, PVC and CuNi pipework from isometric and engineering drawings.
  • Installation of piping brackets, supports and mountings.
  • Fitting and connecting pumps, equipment and associated systems.
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, pipe schematics, isometric drawings and installation plans.
  • Carrying out pressure testing, leak testing and system checks.
  • Completing snagging and final fit-out activities prior to vessel delivery.
  • Working alongside mechanical, electrical and outfitting teams to meet programme deadlines.
  • Maintaining high standards of quality, safety and workmanship throughout the build process.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Marine Pipefitter within shipbuilding, marine refit, defence, offshore or commercial vessel projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical, engineering and isometric drawings.
  • Experience installing hydraulic, fuel, water and waste systems.
  • Strong fabrication, assembly and installation skills.
  • Experience working with steel, aluminium, PVC and CuNi pipework.
  • Knowledge of pipe supports, brackets, flanges, couplings and associated fittings.
  • Experience carrying out pressure testing and fault identification.
  • High attention to detail and quality standards.
  • Familiarity with shipyard health and safety requirements.
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces and at height where required.
