Proven experience as a Buyer within a manufacturing environment. A leading global manufacturing business is currently recruiting for a Buyer on a full-time, permanent basis in Pulborough, West Sussex. Hybrid working is available after probation, with 3 days onsite.
Key responsibilities:
- Place purchase orders in line with ERP requirements to support production and project deadlines.
- Expedite material supply with selected suppliers and produce weekly expedite reports.
- Analyse ERP exception messages and take action to prevent shortages and maintain flow of materials.
- Manage selected suppliers to improve on-time delivery and control inventory levels.
- Prepare and issue electronic document packs to support custom part orders (for example drawings, BOMs and related files).
- Liaise closely with Engineering, Planning, Sales and Manufacturing to support delivery priorities.
- Contribute to process improvements and support ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and health and safety requirements.
Key skills and experience:
- Experience in a Buyer or purchasing role supporting manufacturing or production environments.
- Strong working knowledge of ERP systems and confident use of MS Office.
- Ability to manage supplier relationships and communicate clearly with internal stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail with an analytical approach to problem solving and decision making.
- Organised, proactive and able to work to tight deadlines with a sense of urgency.
- High standards of integrity, ethical working and commitment to environmental considerations.
