Bid Co-ordinator / Manager

This is an excellent opportunity for a Bid Manager to join a collaborative business development function supporting complex defence and technology programmes.
The role is focused primarily on governance, compliance, process management, and bid coordination , ensuring that opportunities progress efficiently through the bid lifecycle and meet all internal approval requirements.
Working alongside Capture Leads and cross-functional stakeholders, you will act as the central point of coordination for bids, facilitating the successful execution of bid activities, maintaining governance standards, and ensuring all stakeholders remain aligned throughout the process.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage the governance and compliance aspects of the bid lifecycle for assigned opportunities.
- Develop, implement, and maintain bid management plans, schedules, and review processes.
- Ensure bids progress through the appropriate internal approval and delegated authority processes.
- Coordinate and facilitate bid activities across multiple functions, ensuring stakeholders remain engaged and informed.
- Schedule, organise, and oversee key bid reviews, ensuring timely completion of actions and deliverables.
- Tailor and implement bid processes appropriate to the size, complexity, and strategic importance of each opportunity.
- Manage resources, responsibilities, budgets, and timelines associated with bid delivery.
- Support security, export control, and business approval requirements where applicable.
- Act as a key interface between business leadership, commercial, technical, and operational teams to expedite decision-making and resolve issues.
- Coordinate costing and pricing activities, ensuring alignment with overall bid objectives and commercial strategy.
- Drive adherence to governance frameworks while helping bid teams navigate internal processes efficiently.
Experience Required
- Degree qualified or equivalent professional experience.
- Previous experience in bid management, bid coordination, project management, or PMO environments.
- Strong understanding of governance, compliance, approvals, and business processes within complex organisations.
- Experience supporting RFIs, ITTs, ITNs, RFQs, RFPs, framework agreements, or other competitive tender processes.
- Excellent stakeholder management and organisational skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple workstreams simultaneously.
