The Opportunity
A well-established precision engineering manufacturer supplying highly regulated industries is seeking an experienced CNC Turner Programmer/Setter/Operator to join their growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist to work on a diverse range of components, from one-off prototypes through to medium batch production runs, predominantly machining aluminium and stainless steel materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Programming, setting and operating CNC Turning machines with Fanuc controls.
- Producing high-precision components to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Interpreting technical drawings, dimensions and geometric tolerances.
- Selecting appropriate tooling and machining methods to achieve required quality standards.
- Conducting in-process and final inspections using precision measuring equipment.
- Completing production and quality documentation accurately.
- Maintaining compliance with ISO9001 and AS9100 quality standards.
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and maintaining excellent housekeeping standards.
Skills & Experience RequiredEssential
- Proven experience as a CNC Turner with programming, setting and operating experience.
- Strong knowledge of Fanuc Oi-TC and I Series controls.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and tight tolerances.
- Experience machining aluminium and stainless steel.
- Competent in the use of precision measuring equipment.
- Manual machining experience.
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
- Self-motivated with a flexible and proactive approach.
Desirable
- Knowledge of modern CNC machine tool maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Experience within aerospace, defence, nuclear, automotive or other precision engineering environments.
