Job Summary
An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Engineer within the Roads and Transportation service leading the Structures team. You will assist the Design Engineering Manager in delivering key functions of the service.
Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day activities of road‑related structures, including design of new works, general and principal condition assessments, and design of maintenance activities for bridges and other road‑related structures.
- Manage project schedules, contracts, and resources, ensuring delivery within scope, cost, and time constraints.
- Provide technical guidance to the team and collaborate with multidisciplinary stakeholders.
- Maintain high standards of health and safety, applying legislation and risk management practices.
Qualifications
- Registered with the Engineering Council at Chartered Engineer level.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in bridges and other road‑related structures.
- Strong project management skills with working knowledge of contract management.
- Well‑developed communication skills and the ability to manage multiple demands under pressure.
- Working knowledge of H&S legislation and frontline risk management (desired); experience managing a team is desirable.
