An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Engineer within the Roads and Transportation service, leading the Structures team. Working as a key member of the Roads and Transportation service you will assist the Design Engineering Manager deliver one of the key functions of the service.
Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day activities of road-related structures, including the design of new works, general and principal condition assessments, and the design of maintenance activities for bridges and other roads-related structures.
Qualifications:
- Registration with the Engineering Council at Chartered Engineer level.
- Knowledge and experience of bridges and other roads-related structures.
- Project management skills with a working knowledge of contract management.
- Well-developed communication skills with the ability to manage multiple demands under pressure and meet targets.
- Working knowledge of health and safety legislation and a high degree of understanding relating to frontline risk management (desirable).
- Experience in managing a team (desirable).
