We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Consultant Geriatrician to join a dynamic multidisciplinary team providing comprehensive care for older adults.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality inpatient and outpatient geriatric medicine services
- Assess, diagnose, and manage complex medical conditions in older patients
- Lead Comprehensive Geriatric Assessments and contribute to discharge planning
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including nursing, therapy, social work, and community services
- Participate in the General Internal Medicine on-call rota, where applicable
- Support teaching, training, and supervision of junior doctors and medical students
- Contribute to clinical governance, service development, and quality improvement initiatives
Requirement
- Specialist registration (or eligibility for specialist registration) in Geriatric Medicine
- Experience managing frail older adults and complex multimorbidities
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to patient-centred care, education, and service improvement
What We Offer
The current Consultant salary scale ranges from €238,221 to €286,151 for a 37-hour week, with any additional work paid on top of that. There is also €12,000 in CPD funding, €8,000 in innovation funding, generous annual leave, and a public pension scheme.
