Our client, a leading private healthcare provider in Ireland is seeking a Clinical Director in Mental Health to join its Psychiatry Team. The organisation specialises in residential and supported living services for both children and adults with a range of complex support needs.
The successful candidate will take a lead role in delivering high-quality, biopsychosocial-informed care for a cohort of patients with mental disorders residing in an Approved Centre based in Cork.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical leadership and take responsibility for the care of patients in the Approved Centre.
- Contribute to clinical governance and, when required, provide cover for other centres.
- Develop and implement service strategies to maintain high standards of care.
- Monitor compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and guidelines.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams to ensure delivery of personalised, patient-centred care.
- Promote advocacy for patient rights and wellbeing.
- Participate in audits and the development of action plans to improve service delivery.
- Oversee administrative operations and ensure appropriate staffing levels.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide professional development feedback to staff.
- Full registration (specialist) with the Irish Medical Council.
- Higher qualification or degree in medical education, clinical research, or management is desirable.
- Demonstrated achievement in education, research, audit, or service improvement.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant standards, guidelines, and legislation.
- Senior leadership and management experience in a large public or private organisation.
- Proven ability to produce high-quality reports and documentation.
- Experience in psychiatric practice across varied settings (including intellectual disability and forensic settings preferred).
- Excellent clinical skills using a biopsychosocial approach.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
