We are currently seeking a Consultant Anaesthetist to join a high-performing and progressive acute hospital team in Ireland. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a busy Model 4 hospital, delivering high-quality perioperative care across a broad range of surgical specialities. The hospital is located only 20 minutes from the airport, with multiple direct flights daily to cities across the UK.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a comprehensive anaesthetic service, covering both elective and emergency surgery, and will also contribute to critical care and perioperative medicine.

What’s on Offer

  • Competitive salary ranging from €235,862 to €283,318 per annum, based on a 37-hour working week (equivalent to approximately €11,000–€13,000 net per month), with on-call payments paid in addition.
  • Additional earning potential of €30,000–€40,000+ per year through extra sessions and overtime.
  • €12,000 annual allowance for professional development and educational leave.
  • €8,000 innovation fund to support service development and research initiatives.
  • Full support with registration through the Irish Medical Council.

Requirements

  • Specialist registration (or eligibility) with the Irish Medical Council in Anaesthesiology.
  • Experience working at Consultant level.
  • Broad exposure to general anaesthesia, with additional experience in subspecialty areas (e.g. ICU, obstetrics, pain medicine), is desirable.
  • Strong commitment to patient safety, quality improvement, and teamwork.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
