What the Technical Coordinator will be doing on a day to day basis:
You’ll be responsible for completing construction system design calculations and quantity take-offs from architectural drawings, supporting both customers and internal teams with accurate technical information and product specification guidance.
The role involves reviewing building drawings, calculating system requirements based on surface areas and flow data, and ensuring everything aligns with relevant UK standards and performance criteria. It is a practical, maths-based role where technical knowledge is applied to live building projects.
Working with established internal systems that guide the specification process, you won’t need to reinvent the wheel. What matters most is being numerically confident, logical in your thinking, quick to pick things up, and extremely detail-focused. Accuracy is critical, as small mistakes can have cost implications.
A big part of the position is extracting accurate quantities from drawings, identifying all required components and making sure nothing is missed. You’ll also support the team with day-to-day technical tasks, responding to queries by email or phone, offering guidance when needed, and occasionally visiting sites to help resolve issues.
Other responsibilities include contributing to documentation and reporting, tracking projects, and assisting with the introduction of new products or services.
