Who are we looking for
MatBlas is seeking a graduate with a degree in mathematics, physics, statistics, or actuarial science to join our team, designing and implementing efficient pricing processes for our clients.
The successful candidate will join our high-performance insurance academy, a hands-on training programme covering technical, business, and soft skills that are directly applied in the daily work.
Skills, experience & attributes you will need
- You are ambitious, forward-thinking, with a graduate degree in mathematics, physics, statistics, actuarial science, or another analytical subject.
- Academic or practical experience in programming languages such as R or Python is a plus.
- A good working knowledge of all Microsoft Office tools is essential; Excel/VBA training will be provided if needed.
- You are driven to tackle challenging problems and propose efficient, creative solutions.
- Your organizational skills enable you to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- You are rigorous, quality-conscious, with a desire to learn independently and collaboratively.
- You are confident, self-motivated, accountable, and possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
Day-to-day responsibilities
- Collaborating directly with our managing director to review, design, and deploy pricing frameworks and tools across various insurance classes.
- Hosting initial pricing frameworks in functional, user-friendly Excel spreadsheets for underwriters’ testing, then working with our software engineers to transfer models to a web-based platform.
- Researching and preparing training materials related to the developed pricing models, including extensive market research into current and historical market conditions.
- Creating and maintaining technical documentation and user manuals for client handover upon project completion.
- Conducting exposure and claims analysis of historical performance to inform pricing recommendations and recalibrate parameters.
- Assisting in marketing and social media campaigns for MatBlas and our online technical academy, serving as an ambassador for our high-performance insurance academy.
