ROLE PURPOSE
The processing of all payrolls / frequencies. Ensuring all Company employees are paid accurately and on time. Reporting directly to the Senior Payroll Manager.
The role has elements of payroll from data input, processing, review, audit, HMRC submissions, payroll reconciliations and the BACS processing.
The role is integral to ensuring an efficient and effective payroll service is provided to circa 9000 staff, and as such will need to work alongside members of the business, including the rest of the finance team and with the People & Systems team.
KEY RESONSIBILITIES
- Input and checking of all relevant data for all payrolls /frequencies
- Process and submission of all payrolls / frequencies
- Running and checking payroll exception reports – amending errors where appropriate
- Deal with employee / other departmental payroll queries.
- Raise tickets (where necessary) with payroll software provider for system errors.
- Responsible for reporting from payroll in line with HR and business requirements.
- Maintain and update static payroll data as per business requirements.
- Enter variable payments. e.g. Overtime, Holiday pay
- Liaise with HMRC where necessary.
- Send all P45s/Starter/RTI information to HMRC
- Ensure all statutory payments are paid as appropriate i.e. SSP, SMP, SPP, SAP.
- Any other payroll duties as required by the business

- Ensuring all payroll payments are made accurately and on time.
- Ensuring that all HMRC and 3rd party disbursement payments are made accurately and on time.
- Number of advances made due to error / accuracy rate

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 5 years Payroll experience
- Proficient in MS Excel
- Experience of payroll systems, HMRC regulations. § Attention to detail § Highly organised § Team player with strong leadership skills.
