This is a varied role where you’ll play a key part in helping us create a safe and compliant environment for our colleagues, customers and contractors across our retail estate and Support Hub. Working closely with our Health & Safety team, you’ll provide essential administrative support while acting as a trusted point of contact for stores and internal stakeholders. From coordinating training and maintaining compliance records to supporting accident investigations and fire safety processes, you’ll help ensure our Health & Safety systems run smoothly every day.

No two days are the same. One day you could be delivering inductions to new starters, the next supporting stores with Health & Safety queries, coordinating suppliers, updating risk assessments or helping prepare documentation for insurance claims.

What you’ll be doing

  • Provide administrative support to the Health & Safety function within the Legal & Risk team.
  • Support stores and our Support Hub with Health, Safety and Fire compliance, providing guidance and advice where needed.
  • Maintain Health & Safety systems, records, trackers and documentation, ensuring information is accurate and up to date.
  • Coordinate Health & Safety training, meetings and communications, including preparing agendas and taking meeting minutes.
  • Deliver engaging Health & Safety inductions for new colleagues and contractors.
  • Carry out weekly fire alarm testing and fire inspections within the Support Hub.
  • Act as the Senior Fire Marshal during Support Hub fire evacuations.
  • Support and coordinate our network of Fire Marshals and Health & Safety Champions.
  • Assist with accident reporting and investigations, helping identify trends and preventative actions.
  • Review and update risk assessments, policies and best practice guidance.
  • Support the preparation of documentation relating to insurance and personal injury claims.
  • Raise purchase orders, process invoices and assist with Health & Safety budget tracking.
  • Liaise with suppliers, contractors and stores to coordinate equipment, training and Health & Safety requirements.
  • Build strong relationships across the business to promote a positive Health & Safety culture.

About You

You’ll be someone who enjoys staying organised, building relationships and making a real difference behind the scenes. You have excellent attention to detail and enjoy balancing a variety of tasks, while remaining calm and professional when priorities change. Whether you’re supporting colleagues in stores, presenting to new starters or coordinating with suppliers, you’ll be confident communicating with people at every level and passionate about delivering great service.

You’ll bring

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confidence presenting and delivering information to groups.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Great interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships across all areas of the business.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A genuine interest in Health & Safety and promoting best practice.

Desirable

  • DSE Assessor qualification.
  • Evacuation Chair Trainer certification.
  • IOSH qualification or certification.

Benefits

In addition to competitive salaries, we also offer the below core benefits:

  • 20% staff discount, which increases with length of service
  • Thrive Recognition Scheme
