As a Trainee Assistant Branded Buyer, you will support the department through managing the pricing and promotion of our ranges and working closely with the supply base to deliver the best product, at the best price and at the right time. You will work cross functionally to complete administrative tasks while keeping the department’s activities in line with our Critical Path.
Manage daily administrative tasks, including critical path tracking, department organisation, and maintaining up-to-date filing systems, while ensuring that all deadlines are met. Through the use of BI and Ecomm reports, prepare accurate information for both Best & Worst and competitor trackers to allow for this to be presented successfully in Trade meetings. Conduct regular benchmarking of competitor ranges by completing regular reviews, highlighting any price issues, missed opportunities or new products where appropriate.
Demonstrate management of the critical path by ensuring the department is in line with deadlines while highlighting any potential issues that need immediate action. Understand the End-to-End marketing process and support the wider team with promotional or campaign briefs including Bynder asset management. Work with suppliers to ensure range plans are up to date and systems are accurate for invoicing and customer facing price points. Ensure that the new ranges from suppliers are accurate for launch.
Display the ability to manage suppliers through organisation of meetings and rooms and actively contribute to the meeting; taking notes for follow up. Manage the End-to-End product launch approval process which includes tasks such as liaising with suppliers by phone and email, updating critical path and Trello boards, problem solving with key stakeholders, working with OP360 team, ensuring test orders are processed and that online checks are done after launch. Conduct regular visits to Matalan stores to stay informed about broader business initiatives. Ad hoc sample management.
