The role supports the delivery of accurate, timely, and actionable risk insight that helps protect profit, assets, stock integrity, and people across the business. It is responsible for routine datamining, fraud and theft detection analysis, investigative support, and the development and maintenance of clear and reliable reporting outputs.

Working under guidance, the Risk Data Analyst identifies anomalies, highlights emerging risks, and supports evidence-based decision making across Profit Protection, Retail, Distribution, E-commerce, Audit, Insurance, and Health and Safety. The role plays a key part in maintaining data integrity, supporting RFID insight, and ensuring risk reporting remains accurate, relevant, and operationally useful.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular datamining to identify unusual patterns, trends, and anomalies relating to theft, fraud, stock loss, and procedural non-compliance.
  • Produce routine dashboards and reporting to highlight potential risks for review by the Risk Intelligence and Insights Manager and operational teams.
  • Provide structured analytical support for investigations relating to theft, fraud, stock discrepancies, accidents, and compliance breaches, including preparation of investigation packs and maintenance of accurate logs.
  • Write and maintain SQL queries to extract data for recurring and ad hoc analysis, ensuring accuracy and reliability of outputs.
  • Support the development and enhancement of Power BI dashboards used across Profit Protection, Internal Audit, Insurance, and Health and Safety, ensuring all outputs align with established business standards and data governance protocols.
  • Assist in integrating data from multiple systems, including RFID platforms and risk tools, to support joined‑up insight.
  • Support analysis of RFID stock count data by identifying discrepancies and escalating concerns appropriately.
  • Assist in reviewing stock movement, transfers, write‑offs, and disposals to highlight potential control weaknesses.
  • Contribute to trend analysis, root cause reviews, and basic impact measurement of risk interventions under supervision.
  • Build effective working relationships with Business Risk teams and respond to data requests in a timely and professional manner.

Experience or strong interest in fraud analysis, loss prevention, or operational risk data within a retail or multi‑channel environment is preferred. We are looking for a proactive self‑starter, with a natural curiosity to dig into the “why” behind the data, who is comfortable operating at pace within a fast‑moving business function. You don’t need to tick every single box to apply—if you have a passion for learning and are eager to develop, we will provide the support, mentorship, and expertise to help you grow into the role.
