The Marketplace Relationship Manager will lead the growth and trading performance of Matalan’s EU marketplace channels, ensuring products are effectively launched, marketed and optimised across multiple third‑party platforms. This role will own the day‑to‑day commercial management of marketplace partners, driving sales performance, customer visibility, product availability and brand presentation across international territories. The successful candidate will combine strong trading instincts with operational excellence and marketplace expertise to support Matalan’s international growth ambitions.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the commercial performance of marketplace channels, driving sales, profit and growth.
- Monitor daily, weekly and monthly trading performance and take proactive actions to optimise results.
- Analyse sales, traffic, conversion and product performance data to identify opportunities and risks.
- Manage pricing, promotions, markdowns and product visibility in line with trading plans.
- Work closely with internal teams to maximise stock availability and minimise missed sales opportunities.
Marketplace Operations & Product Management
- Manage the end‑to‑end product onboarding process across marketplace platforms.
- Ensure accurate and timely product uploads, descriptions, imagery and categorisation.
- Maintain high standards of product content and brand presentation across all marketplaces.
- Support localisation requirements including language, currency and territory‑specific compliance.
- Resolve operational issues impacting product availability or customer experience.
Partner & Stakeholder Management
- Build strong relationships with external marketplace partners and account managers.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with Buying, Merchandising, eCommerce, Marketing, Supply Chain and Finance teams.
- Lead regular performance reviews with marketplace partners and internal stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to expand product ranges, categories and territories.
Commercial Growth & Strategy
- Support the development and execution of the marketplace growth strategy.
