About the role
Based out of either our Liverpool or London office, you will be responsible for shaping how influencers engage with our brand. You will lead and inspire your team to champion our ambition in transforming our reputation as a style destination amongst the media, influencers and tastemakers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, lead and execute our influencers strategy: Lead the relationships for Matalan with influencers through proactive storytelling around our products and partnerships.
  • Work hand in hand with our social & influencers team to identify key influencers/ambassadors, at the micro/mid and macro levels to tell the Matalan story.
  • Build meaningful relationships with influencers and tastemakers to create momentum for the brand as a style destination, including thought leadership platforms highlighting our new strategy of everyday style, quality and value.
  • Develop and execute an Influencers strategy that elevates Matalan's position as a leading value fashion retailer.
  • Build process working closely with our product teams to bring a consistent flow of product to relevant influencers to ensure we are part of the cultural conversation.
  • Support the Senior manager in being a trusted advisor to the executive team, providing guidance on media engagement on thought leadership for influencers.
  • Work closely with the PR manager on the strategy and execution of experiential marketing initiatives, ensuring brand activations, events and in-store experiences enhance customer engagement and strengthen our brand position.
  • Own, manage and optimise budgets, agency relationships, and performance metrics to deliver ROI-driven collaborations while maintaining cost efficiency.

Lead and inspire your team, fostering a culture of creativity, agility, and accountability. Ensure your team works closely and in full collaboration with the wider social and PR team.

About You
Previous experience operating at a manager level within Brand PR or social team managing influencers ideally within retail, consumer or fashion industries. Strong track record of building high-impact influencer strategies. Excellent pre-existing relationships across media and/or influencer networks across fashion, retail and business press. Strong storytelling ability with sharp copywriting and narrative development skills to create compelling briefs to attract the right talent. Confident working with senior leaders and influencing at executive level. Experience in management with the ability to inspire, motivate and grow a team.
