MAT Recruitment are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH specialist Teacher to join a supportive team and work in an environment where every students social, emotional, and mental health needs are recognised and supported. This is a Temp to perm placement to begin ASAP. As the successful candidate, you must have a valid QTS. You will be instrumental in delivering a personalised curriculum that fosters resilience, builds confidence, and equips students with the skills they need to thrive both academically and personally. Key Responsibilities: Deliver tailored lessons that meet the diverse needs of students with SEMH and behavioural needs, using creative and innovative approaches to engage and inspire. Support student development by focusing on social, emotional, and behavioural learning, and promoting positive behaviour strategies. Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and external professionals to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs). Create a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment where students feel valued, understood, and motivated to succeed. Monitor and assess progress, adapting teaching strategies to address individual learning challenges and celebrate achievements. Were Looking For: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with experience or a passion for working within an SEMH/Alternative Provision environment. Demonstrable experience in behaviour management and restorative practices to effectively support and engage students. Ability to build strong, positive relationships with students who may have faced difficulties in mainstream settings. Resilient, empathetic, and committed to working in a high-support, high-challenge environment. Strong communication skills to work with students, families, and other stakeholders, ensuring a team-based approach to student progress.
