We are currently recruiting an experienced HGV Fitter / Body Builder to join our client team in Blackburn. This is a hands-on role working on a wide range of commercial vehicles and trailers, involving mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

  • HGV fitting and repairs
  • Vehicle body building and modifications
  • Installation and fitting of cranes and lifting equipment
  • Working with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
  • Trailer modifications and extensions
  • Fault finding, maintenance, and testing
  • Ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an HGV fitter / body builder / crane fitter
  • Good knowledge of:
  • Hydraulics
  • Pneumatics
  • Electrical systems
  • Experience with trailer modifications and extensions
  • Ability to read technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong attention to detail and safety
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Desirable (but not essential)

    • Relevant mechanical or engineering qualifications
    • Experience fitting commercial vehicle cranes
    • Welding or fabrication experience
