In this senior role, you own independent risk oversight for Mastercard’s Core Payments business, guiding risk governance, controls, and risk culture across multiple jurisdictions. You enable scalable growth by embedding disciplined risk practice into strategic initiatives and product launches. You will provide executive risk insights to inform priorities and decisions, partnering with leaders across technology, operations, and business lines. Responsibilities
- Provide 2LoD risk oversight for Core Payments risk, governance, and control environment
- Lead risk governance forums, escalation pathways, issue management, and executive reporting
- Oversee multiple risk domains (operational resilience, technology/cyber, third-party, conduct) across jurisdictions
- Ensure clear Three Lines of Defense accountability and independent challenge
- Identify emerging risks and translate them into actionable governance and decisions
- Design and operate risk management practices aligning strategy, appetite, and growth
- Establish robust risk governance with escalation pathways, risk committees, and decision structures
- Oversee end-to-end risk processes: identification, assessment, monitoring, issue management
- Coordinate risk reporting for senior leadership and embed disciplined risk-taking with business/tech leaders
- Serve as primary 2LoD lead for RTPI, maintaining regulator relationships and supporting examinations
- Maintain access to Risk Committees and escalate material risk concerns
- Contribute as a member of the RTPI Leadership Team
- Foster risk-aware culture and durable operating practices
- Ensure risk management practices comply with regulatory requirements

- Knowledge of risk appetite frameworks, risk assessment methodologies, and control assurance
- Experience in stress testing, scenario analysis, risk quantification, and emerging risks
- Strong understanding of operational, technology, cyber, and strategic risk management
- Experience with Three Lines of Defense operating models and risk culture implementation
