This role is centered around the configuration, optimization, and operational support of Akamai ION/CDN services, as well as DNS/DHCP infrastructure and F5 GTM systems. You will help ensure Mastercard’s global web traffic remains fast, secure, and highly available by managing content delivery policies, troubleshooting latency or delivery issues, and collaborating with key internal and external stakeholders.

Do you enjoy working on high-impact web and network delivery technologies? Do you have deep operational knowledge of Akamai or similar CDN platforms? Are you passionate about tuning web performance and solving DNS-related challenges in a fast-paced environment? If so, we want you to be part of our high-performing engineering team helping to safeguard Mastercard’s digital experience around the globe.

Role

  • Configure and maintain Akamai ION/CDN services, including routing rules, cache optimization, certificate renewals, and delivery debugging.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and triage incidents affecting global web delivery, often under tight SLAs.
  • Define and maintain Akamai policies aligned with performance, security, and redundancy goals.
  • Manage Mastercard’s enterprise DNS/DHCP environment via Infoblox, including zone delegation, forwarding rules, DHCP scope configurations, and failover planning.
  • Support and enhance F5 Global Traffic Manager (GTM) configurations for geo-aware load balancing and disaster recovery.
  • Work cross-functionally with software engineering, cybersecurity, and product teams to design resilient and scalable content delivery strategies.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for CDN/DNS support.
  • Contribute to automation and Infrastructure-as-Code efforts where feasible (Terraform, Ansible, etc.).

All About You

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience implementing and supporting Akamai ION/CDN or a comparable enterprise CDN platform.
  • 3+ years of experience in network engineering, site reliability engineering, or web performance optimization.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills across DNS, DHCP, CDN, or HTTP/S delivery chains.
  • Familiarity with enterprise DNS/DHCP systems (Infoblox preferred) and experience managing zones, forwarders, and DHCP scope policies.
  • Working knowledge of F5 GTM configurations and load balancing strategies.
  • Experience with certificates, including renewals and automated deployment through Akamai or DNS validation.
  • Self-starter with a passion for continuous learning and ability to mentor others on best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills – able to present complex issues clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred: Akamai or F5 certification, Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform or Ansible), scripting or API automation experience.
