The Senior Analyst in the Controls Office supports processes to ensure operations are compliant with policies, procedures and regulations, identifies and addresses control weaknesses, assists in continuous improvement of controls, and remediates identified issues. The role reports to the Director, Controls & Issues Advisory.
Responsibilities
- Analyze existing controls and identify control gaps, supporting 1LOD functions per the Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
- Support implementation of procedures to enable effective 1LOD adoption of control and issue management policies and processes.
- Assist in managing and maintaining the Controls Library (L1‑L3).
- Analyze proposed new controls or changes to existing controls, providing a view on their appropriateness.
- Assist with completion of control effectiveness assessments.
- Analyze and support remediation of control deficiencies, providing issues triage and submission validation.
- Conduct analysis of the control environment and make improvement recommendations.
- Promote collaborative working relationships with stakeholders across the organization.
- Present and engage effectively with colleagues across Vocalink and Mastercard.
Qualifications
- Understanding of internal controls framework principles.
- Understanding of key operational risk management principles and approaches.
- Experience working in or advising on operational risk controls and issue management.
- Experience supporting Risk and Controls Self-Assessment (RCSA) processes, ideally in banking, financial services, IT or payments.
- Understanding of key operational resilience principles.
- Experience in 1st or 2nd line risk teams or within 3rd line Internal Audit functions in a financial services environment.
- Experience supporting application of operational risk frameworks and understanding of risk assessment methodologies.
- Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across the organization (written and oral).
- Strong analytical, reporting and presentation skills.
- Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure.
- Ability to prioritize workload to meet business needs.
