Title and Summary

Director – Strategic Planning Overview

The Director of Strategic Planning will play a key role in shaping Mastercard Europe’s strategy and accelerating its execution. They will lead cross-functional projects developing strategic plans in partnership with various business units, identify and pursue new growth opportunities, analyze M&A opportunities, etc. The function is within Europe Strategy & Business Excellence – a great place to learn rapidly by being exposed to the most strategic questions Mastercard Europe faces and by working alongside other smart and driven colleagues.

Role

1. Proactively identify opportunities for growth or improvement within the region.
2. Help regionalize Mastercard’s global strategy and accelerate its implementation.
3. Support other business units in accelerating their growth strategies.
4. Lead cross-functional strategic projects for the region—from defining the problem statement to developing robust execution plans.
5. Drive change by partnering closely with different teams.

2. A problem-solver with an analytical mindset and the ability to cut through noise and complexity.
3. Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams without direct reporting lines.
4. Ability to influence stakeholders and drive change.
5. Quick to adapt to new topics and projects.
6. Comfortable juggling multiple projects concurrently.
7. Knowledge of payments is a strong plus.
8. Experience in consulting or in-house corporate strategy roles is a plus.
9. Curiosity to learn about various aspects of Mastercard.
