Overview
As Director, Network Commercialization, you will drive growth and optimization of Mastercard's receiving network across Oceania. You will expand payout capabilities, onboard RSPs and partners, and ensure best-in-class coverage, pricing, speed, and customer experience. You will lead cross-border remittance initiatives, including account deposit, wallet payouts, and push-to-card solutions, while improving network performance and partner economics. This role blends strategic go-to-market with operational execution in a dynamic payments ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Develop regional network commercialization strategies to drive growth in remittance corridors
- Identify, evaluate, negotiate, and onboard RSPs, banks, fintechs, wallet providers, and payment institutions
- Expand payout coverage to bank deposits, mobile wallets, and push-to-card capabilities
- Manage a robust pipeline of network expansion opportunities
- Drive activation and utilization of new network capabilities to boost volumes and revenue
- Maintain strategic partner relationships and conduct regular performance reviews
- Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, and SLAs with partners
- Escalate and resolve strategic partner issues and commercial discussions
- Collaborate with partners to improve service quality and customer experience
- Enable push-to-card services with banks and issuers; expand card-based payout solutions
- Partner with issuing banks and ecosystem players to increase acceptance of card payouts
- Support commercialization of innovative payout solutions for speed and reach
- Improve network efficiency, reduce cancellations and rejection rates
- Coordinate with Operations, Product, Compliance, and Technology to enhance scalability
- Identify high-growth corridors and develop go-to-market plans
- Monitor regulatory developments and industry trends impacting cross-border payments
- Develop business cases for new corridor launches and expansions
- Support regional sales and business development in securing opportunities
- Collaborate with Product, Compliance, Risk, Finance, and Treasury on requirements, risk controls, liquidity, and settlements
- Provide market insights and strategic recommendations to leadership
Key requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Banking, or related field
- 5β10 years in payments, banking, fintech, remittances, card networks, or financial services
- Proven experience managing commercial relationships with banks, payment institutions, or RSPs
- Track record in partner acquisition, negotiations, and network expansion
- Strong understanding of cross-border payments and remittance value chains
- Knowledge of payout methods (bank deposits, mobile wallets, push-to-card) and correspondent banking models
- Familiarity with settlement, reconciliation, liquidity management, and FX in cross-border payments
- Knowledge of card network capabilities and card payout solutions is a plus
- Ability to manage multiple strategic initiatives and engage senior executives
- Experience in roles spanning diverse regulatory environments
