Overview: The Director, Business Development for B2B Transportation Europe will be responsible for developing and executing on Transportation space growth opportunities (fleet, freight & logistics, and supply chain management) across the European market landscape. The successful candidate must have a deep understanding of the fleet marketspace and have a strong grasp of European oil company processes and relationships. The Director of B2B Transportation, Europe will support business development plans, opportunity pipelines, and be responsible for developing and supporting partnerships with European oil companies and fleet card issuers.
Role:
- Establishes the right measurement frameworks, pipeline reports, KPIs and analysis to identify and measure B2B Transportation segment growth across the European market.
- Supports the regional business development team with a deep understanding of fleet card ecosystems and specifications.
- Supports key market partners with go-to-market activities and works as a conduit into the larger Mastercard organization to drive growth initiatives.
- Works well within a cross-functional team to maximize their time on intended work (i.e. Sales and Delivery with Clients; new opportunity identification).
- Leads the execution of strategic client projects -- building the cross-functional relationships (finance, legal, franchise, etc.) needed to progress volume growth initiatives.
- Drives the management and reporting of European regional B2B Transportation analytics, with a focus on ensuring all annual planning and business case financial targets are met.

- Strong technical understanding of the European Fleet ecosystem (specifications, terminal certifications, closed loop platforms, etc.) and an ability to translate this knowledge into sales activities.
- Likable cross‑functional influencer who works well in a highly matrixed organization.

- Excellent business and technical problem‑solving skills, with a strong understanding of fleet specifications, POS development frameworks and commercial card acceptance processes.

- Generalist mentality with a well‑rounded skill set and ability to easily move between business, financial management, and technical teams.
- Ability to quickly intuit the validity of business cases, qualify opportunities, and the willingness to sign up for meaningful growth initiatives.
- Able to balance multiple projects and differing business priorities; flexible to work with global offices across several time zones.
