Overview Open Banking is a worldwide phenomenon, often driven by regulatory action. It represents a massive change in the financial services markets. In Europe through PSD2, it is now a reality; and around the world other markets are actively discussing the adoption of similar approaches. Mastercard is developing a global Open Banking business to capitalise on this new, global market opportunity. In the long term this business is expected to be a very significant contributor to Mastercard’s global revenues. Mastercard has created and is running a successful Open Banking Business in Europe and through acquisitions in other parts of the globe. This role is to support the expanded services we will be offering in the United Kingdom and Europe.
Role The Open Banking Compliance Analyst role supports the wider Mastercard Open Banking team by undertaking general compliance advisory activities with a focus on outsourcing and complaints management, governance reporting and general project management. The role will suit a person who is well organised, enjoys researching and thinking critically, possesses a keen attention to detail, able to navigate cross-functional teams and work collaboratively. Working under general supervision, this role will report to a Manager in the Legal Compliance team.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Provide compliance advisory services to business areas by documenting compliance requirements; and/or advising business areas on the application of compliance policies and procedures.
- Collate, assess, monitor and report on issues management, outsourcing and complaints management metrics/SLAs, identifying areas for improvement.
- Support summarising of key regulations relating to the Open Banking Business and mapping relevant controls.
- Collate metrics and prepare reporting for senior management to drive awareness of business deliverables and strategic decision making.
- Support development, implementation, and maintaining compliance policies, procedures, and frameworks that align with both legal obligations and organisational objectives.
- Staying up to date on the latest relevant Open Banking regulation to support business stakeholders in understanding the direct and indirect impacts of any legal or regulatory changes.
- Support the development and rollout of continuous improvement projects for the Open Banking Risk and Compliance team.
All about You
- Compliance experience at a PSP or Bank. Experience in Open Banking is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of Complaints and Outsourcing compliance with experience in providing compliance requirements and collating metrics for reporting.
- Able to function in a highly matrix environment.
- Demonstrate a high degree of self-motivation, organisation, time management, and attention to detail.
- Able to actively collaborate, able and willing to share best practice and progress multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build cross-functional relationships and to work, under pressure, with different teams and across different countries/cultures.
- A builder of bridges who can identify a route to a solution across a complex environment.

- Communication skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills in order to clearly explain complex topics, including drafting technical documents tailored to diverse audiences; strong listening skills; strong presentation skills at all levels; willingness to “get sleeves rolled up” to ensure the right things happen.
