Purpose of the Role:
The Senior Vice President, Business Development and Partnerships will drive the strategic growth agenda for the Real Time Payments (RTP) business line, ensuring the commercial success of the RTP suite and A2A solutions globally. This executive role encompasses leadership of sales execution, product commercialization, fintech partnerships, solution marketing, bid and opportunity management. Additionally, the role will have responsibility for driving growth, profitability, and return on investment (ROI) across the business line, integrating both Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) responsibilities to ensure sustainable and profitable business performance.
Key Responsibilities:
People Leadership: Lead the RTP Commercial team including several direct reports and their functions, communicating clearly and timely across the organization to ensure alignment, focus on objectives, and winning culture.
Strategic Sales Leadership: Lead and execute the global sales strategy for Real Time Payments solutions, achieving aggressive growth targets and deepening client engagement, maintaining focus on revenue and margin.
Product Commercialization and Partnerships: Oversee the development and execution of go-to-market strategies and market-facing value propositions for RTP, including new partnerships with fintechs that accelerate this and help us to achieve significant market penetration and revenue targets.
Solution Marketing: Lead solution marketing activities including value proposition development, market positioning, thought leadership, and demand generation programs.
Bid & Opportunity Management: Oversee major bids and proposal management, ensuring commercially robust, client-focused, and winning submissions.
Contract Management: Drive commercial negotiations, contract structuring, and ensure alignment with commercial policies and risk management practices.
Decision Support & Business Planning: Provide data-driven decision support, business case development, pipeline management, and contribute to strategic planning processes.
Construct commercial value propositions for inclusion in participant proposals, ensuring alignment with client needs and business objectives.
Support the development of deal business cases, working closely with regional teams and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure robust financial modelling and risk assessment.
Establish and maintain pricing frameworks for new products and services, ensuring alignment with commercial strategy, market dynamics, and ROI expectations.
Financial Leadership: Champion profitable growth initiatives, ensuring robust margin management, cost discipline, and ROI optimization across all commercial activities.
Strategic Pricing & Commercial Models: Lead the design and optimization of pricing strategies and commercial models to enhance competitiveness and profitability.
Performance Management & Forecasting: Oversee performance reporting, forecasting, and ensure alignment with strategic and financial targets.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
– In-depth understanding of the payments industry including industry trends, regulatory impacts, and competitive dynamics, demonstratable track record in customer engagement and acquisition.
– Proven track record of commercial leadership in payments, financial services, or technology sectors, ideally within RTP
– Extensive experience in product commercialization, solution marketing, sales or GTM strategy within fintech, payments, or financial services, with a focus on real-time payments or transaction processing.
– Strong financial acumen, with demonstrated experience managing P&L, budgeting, and profitability metrics
– Expertise in solution marketing and go-to-market strategies
– Strong contract negotiation and deal structuring skills
– Analytical and data-driven decision-making approach
– Exceptional leadership, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills
– Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Technology, or related field (MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred)
