Are you looking to start a hands-on career in property maintenance? Do you enjoy practical work, problem-solving, and learning on the job? Atom Supplies is looking for a Trainee / Apprentice Property Maintenance Operative to join our team and grow with us. This is an entry-level role — no previous experience required. You'll work alongside experienced professionals and gain exposure to all areas of property and facilities maintenance while completing a recognised Level 2 apprenticeship.
What you'll be doing
- Working closely with our Facilities Manager and Quality Manager to support the smooth day-to-day operation of our site.
- Supporting daily facilities and site operations.
- Learning to carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), including routine checks such as fire safety equipment, emergency lighting, legionella monitoring, racking, compressors, and other site equipment.
- Recording inspections and maintenance activity accurately to support compliance and asset tracking.
- Responding to reactive maintenance requests and assisting with minor repairs under supervision.
- Supporting contractor visits, ensuring work is carried out safely and in line with site requirements.
- Assisting with basic building maintenance, equipment checks, and repairs.
- Helping manage site supplies, consumables, and spare parts.
- Supporting office moves, porterage, and general logistics.
- Using a CAFM system (such as MAXIMO) to log and track maintenance tasks.
- Promoting health, safety, and information security best practice at all times.
- Supporting compliance records, supplier coordination, and cost information for maintenance works.
This role offers broad exposure to property maintenance, helping you develop technical skills, operational knowledge, and strong professional behaviours.
Apprenticeship development
You'll complete the Property Maintenance Operative Level 2 Apprenticeship over ***** months. GLP is the training provider. This includes:
- Online workshops and e-learning.
- One-to-one tutor support.
- Hands-on workplace training.
- Off site training; practical skills are delivered over two days every quarter at the purpose-built Building Block construction training centres in Worcester.
You'll build skills across safety, sustainability, maintenance practices, teamwork, and commercial awareness — setting you up for a long-term career in facilities and property maintenance.

You must have lived in the UK or EEA for the last 3 consecutive years. Ideally, you'll have GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade 4/C or above in English and Maths, or Functional Skills Level 2.
