About the School:

Located in the heart of Brighton, our "Outstanding" rated secondary school is a vibrant, inclusive, and high achieving learning community. Due to ongoing demand, we are looking to expand our pool of supply Maths teachers including enthusiastic individuals who may not yet hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) but have a passion for education and a solid grasp of mathematics.

The Role:

As a Supply Maths Teacher, you will step in to support classes across Key Stages 3 & 4, delivering pre-prepared lessons and maintaining classroom order in the absence of the permanent teacher. While you may not be formally qualified, you'll play an essential part in ensuring learning continues with minimal disruption.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering lessons using plans and resources provided
  • Supporting student learning and managing classroom behaviour effectively
  • Encouraging a positive and respectful classroom environment
  • Liaising with teaching staff to report on student progress and any concerns
  • Following school safeguarding and behaviour policies
  • Adapting to various classroom environments with flexibility and professionalism

What We’re Looking For:

  • A strong understanding of Maths (GCSE-level and above)
  • Confidence in leading a classroom environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Adaptability, patience, and a proactive attitude
  • A genuine interest in education and working with young people
  • Previous experience working with students (e.g., tutoring, youth work, coaching) is desirable
