About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated SEN Teacher to join a supportive school in Portsmouth. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning to pupils aged 8–16 with a range of Special Educational Needs, including SEMH. You will plan and deliver engaging lessons, create a nurturing learning environment, and ensure every pupil is supported to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver, and adapt lessons to meet the individual needs of pupils with SEN and SEMH.
- Create and maintain positive working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations for behaviour and achievement.
- Develop, implement, and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with support staff and external professionals.
- Monitor, assess, and record pupil progress, using assessments to inform future planning.
- Work effectively with teaching assistants and other staff to support learning across individual, small group, and whole-class settings.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that prioritises pupil wellbeing and safeguarding.

- Experience teaching pupils with SEN/SEMH needs.
- A strong understanding of inclusive teaching strategies and behaviour management.
- The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external agencies.
