The Role

As a Supply Teacher, you will play a vital role in ensuring continuity of learning when the class teacher is absent.

You will confidently deliver the learning that has been planned, maintain high expectations for behaviour and learning, and create a positive classroom environment where children can succeed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver lessons using the plans and resources provided by the class teacher.
  • Create a calm, engaging and purposeful learning environment.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and follow the school's behaviour policy.
  • Support all pupils to access their learning and achieve their best.
  • Mark work completed during the day in line with the school's marking policy, signing all marking as "Supply Teacher" to ensure clarity for monitoring and Ofsted purposes.

  • Learning completed.
  • Any lessons or activities not covered.
  • Pupils who have excelled or may need additional support.
