About the Role
Masterclass Education is currently recruiting a Cover Supervisor to work on behalf of a welcoming and well-regarded secondary school in Crawley. As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring students remain on task with pre-set work.
You do not need to be a qualified teacher to apply for this role. Full guidance and support will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, or individuals with experience working with young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise classes across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials set by teaching staff
- Maintain a positive, safe, and orderly learning environment
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Support students with their learning and respond to basic questions
- Provide feedback to teaching staff at the end of lessons
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Degree-level education (advantageous, not essential)
- Previous coaching, tutoring, youth work, or public speaking experience (advantageous)
- Experience working with young people (desirable)
- Confidence leading a classroom and engaging students
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills
- A professional, reliable, and flexible approach
- A genuine interest in working in education
