We are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of a well-regarded and inclusive secondary school in Chichester for a compassionate and motivated Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated support team. About the Role

Working closely with teaching staff and the SEN/Inclusion team, you will provide in-class, small group, and one-to-one support to students across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will support pupils with SEND, additional learning needs, and social or emotional challenges, helping to ensure they are fully included in school life and able to make strong academic and personal progress. You will be fully immersed in the life of the school and encouraged to be proactive in your role, becoming a valued member of the wider support team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support students to access the secondary curriculum and achieve their learning goals
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support in and out of the classroom
  • Work alongside teachers to deliver targeted interventions and differentiated activities
  • Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Build positive, professional relationships with students and staff
  • Assist with lesson preparation, resources, and classroom organisation
  • Contribute to monitoring student progress and providing feedback
  • Promote inclusive practice and ensure every student has the opportunity to succeed
  • Provide personal care where required

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Experience working with children or young people (education, SEN, care, or youth work settings)
  • A patient, caring, and proactive approach
  • Good literacy, numeracy, and communication skills
  • An understanding of SEND or a willingness to learn
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a secondary school team
