We are seeking a compassionate, resilient and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our specialist secondary SEN school from September 2026 or sooner if possible. The school supports pupils with a wide range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), ADHD, sensory processing needs, social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), and pupils with complex learning difficulties. Many of the pupils require consistent routines, patient support, and strong, trusting relationships to help them feel safe and ready to learn. This is a highly rewarding role where no two days are the same.
We are particularly interested in applicants who may have a background in care, support work, youth work or residential settings, as these skills are highly transferable.
Key Responsibilities:- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Assisting the class teacher to adapt learning for individual needs
- Supporting communication, emotional regulation and engagement
- Helping pupils develop independence, confidence and social skills
