Masterclass are seeking compassionate and adaptable SEN Classroom Assistants to join the bank staff team. This role offers flexibility and the opportunity to work on an as-needed basis, providing essential support to students with special educational needs. As a bank staff member, you will be called upon to cover absences and provide additional assistance during peak times. We will contact you on a weekly basis to retrieve your availability. This role could turn into an ongoing role, if desired.
The school is an inclusive SEN Primary setting dedicated to providing a supportive and enriching environment for all students. Their commitment is to ensure that every student receives the individualised support they need to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. All their students have EHCP’s individual to them and require additional support to achieve the best they can.
Key Responsibilities:
- Student Support: Provide tailored support to students with SEN, helping them to access the curriculum and engage fully in school activities.
- Individualised Learning: Assist in the development and implementation of EHCP’s (Education Health Care Plan) and other personalised learning strategies.
- Classroom Assistance: Work closely with teachers to support the learning environment, including preparing materials and facilitating activities.
- Behaviour Management: Implement positive behaviour management strategies to support student well-being and promote a positive learning atmosphere.
- Communication: Liaise with teachers, SENCO, and other staff to ensure a consistent and cohesive approach to student support.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide feedback to teachers and SENCO as required.
- Flexibility: Be available to work on short notice and adapt to different classroom settings and student needs.
Masterclass Education provide CPD recognised online training, covering subjects such as Safeguarding, Autism Awareness, Understanding Child Development, Violence Reduction, and more, to all our candidates.
Must have:
- Ability to work well independently and as a team
- Has a passion to support and empower children and young people
- A DBS on the Updates Service or willing to obtain one
- Commitment to safeguarding students and young people
