Are you passionate about shaping business architecture and driving transformation? We’re looking for a Senior Business Analyst to partner with Business Architects and deliver capability maps, value streams, and operating model designs that connect strategy to execution.

Role Purpose

The Business Analyst will partner with the Business Architect to elicit, structure and validate business architecture inputs including capabilities, value streams, operating model elements and process views, ensuring traceability from strategy to execution. To provide analysis, documentation and stakeholder facilitation to maintain coherent business architecture artifacts and support transformation roadmaps, governance and decision‑making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Business Architecture Development
    • Assist the Business Architect in capability assessments, maturity scoring and gap analysis.
    • Contribute to operating model designs (functions, roles, RACI) and policy/control impact summaries.
    • Map capabilities to services, processes, applications, and data.
  • Analysis & Documentation
    • Elicit and document business capabilities, value streams, processes, information concepts and stakeholder needs using standard notations.
    • Produce high‑quality deliverables: problem statements, current vs. future state views, requirements (business/functional/non‑functional), acceptance criteria and benefits maps.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Facilitation
    • Plan and run workshops/interviews with business units, product owners, operations, finance and IT.
    • Translate complex architecture concepts into clear, business‑friendly content.
    • Manage feedback cycles, capture decisions, assumptions and risks.
  • Requirements, Roadmaps & Change Support
    • Support prioritisation and initiative shaping (epics/features), linking to capability uplift and outcomes.
    • Collaborate on benefits, measures, KPIs (define baselines and target states).
    • Prepare and maintain backlogs, roadmaps and architecture registers.
  • Governance & Quality
    • Ensure artifacts comply with EA/BA standards, templates and naming conventions.
    • Contribute to governance forums: prep packs, options analysis, recommendations and minutes.
    • Perform quality checks for completeness, consistency, alignment to principles and traceability.

Core BA Skills

  • Structured requirements engineering and business process analysis.
  • Strong facilitation, stakeholder management and conflict resolution.
  • Analytical and synthesising skills, turning complex inputs into coherent models and narratives.

Business Architecture Support

  • Familiarity with capability modelling, value streams and operating model components.
  • Understanding of enterprise architecture linkage (business ↔ application ↔ data ↔ technology).
  • Ability to build traceability from strategy through to delivery outcomes.

Communication & Tools

  • Advanced visual communication (maps, canvases, decks), concise writing.
  • Optional modelling exposure: Archi/ArchiMate, BPMN, Sparx EA.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, or related discipline.
  • 8+ years as a Business Analyst with strong architecture exposure.
  • Experience in large transformation programs.
  • Desirable certifications: IIBA (CCBA/CBAP), BCS BA, Agile (Scrum/SAFe), TOGAF/BIZBOK (awareness).
  • Evidence of producing capability maps, value stream views and operating model artefacts with architects.
  • Stakeholder maps, problem statements, objectives and success criteria.
  • Capability maps (current & target), value streams, high‑level process views.
  • Requirements packs with acceptance criteria; benefits and KPI definitions.
  • Initiative shaping docs (epics/features), options papers, decision logs.
  • Roadmaps with capability uplift and dependency views; governance packs.
