Mastek is looking for a highly capable Cyber Security Architect & Engineer to support the design and implementation of secure, resilient technology solutions across international cyber programmes.

This role is ideal for professionals who enjoy combining architecture, hands‑on engineering, and cyber resilience delivery in complex, regulated environments.

The International Cyber Security Architect and Engineer will design, implement and improve secure and resilient technology controls across international cyber resilience engagements. The role combines security architecture, engineering, technical assurance and implementation support to help clients strengthen cyber posture, reduce operational disruption and align to recognised standards and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

  • Design secure and resilient architectures across enterprise, cloud, hybrid and operational environments, aligned to cyber resilience objectives and client requirements.
  • Engineer and support implementation of technical controls such as secure access, MFA, endpoint protection, logging, monitoring, encryption and network security measures.
  • Conduct architecture and technical risk assessments, identifying control gaps, resilience weaknesses and remediation priorities.
  • Support delivery of cyber resilience programmes across information assurance, governance, resilience engineering, emerging technologies and technical hardening.
  • Contribute to the design of secure operating models, architecture standards, engineering patterns and technical baselines.
  • Support incident response and recovery by advising on containment architecture, technical remediation and hardening improvements following security events.
  • Work with client and internal teams to embed secure‑by‑design principles into new and changing services.
  • Provide technical input into reporting, design documentation, implementation plans, change control and stakeholder briefings.
  • Support international deployments, technical workshops and site visits where required.

Essential qualifications and experience

  • Degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Security or a related discipline.
  • Strong experience in cyber security architecture, security engineering or infrastructure / cloud security roles.
  • Experience designing and implementing security controls across complex enterprise environments.
  • Strong understanding of frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, NCSC principles and broader security architecture good practice.
  • Experience of translating business and risk requirements into practical technical security designs.
  • Strong documentation, stakeholder engagement and problem‑solving skills.

Desirable certifications

  • CISSP, CCSP, SABSA, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer / Lead Auditor, Azure / AWS / Google Cloud security certifications or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of zero trust, secure‑by‑design, cloud security and resilience engineering practices.
  • Experience in government, defence, critical national infrastructure or international regulated environments.

Security and suitability requirements

  • Must be eligible for BPSS as a minimum; SC eligibility highly desirable for secure government environments.
  • Willingness to travel internationally where required.
