Are you an experienced Payroll SME with strong expertise in Oracle Cloud ERP/HCM and UK Payroll legislation? Join a large-scale transformation programme and play a key client-side leadership role shaping the future‑state Payroll operations for a major UK University. As the Payroll Business Lead, you will represent Payroll throughout the end‑to‑end Oracle Cloud ERP & HCM implementation. You’ll act as the subject matter expert, safeguarding business requirements, validating solution design, and ensuring full alignment with UK statutory and HE sector needs.
Responsibilities
- Represent Payroll across Design, Build, Test, Deploy & Hypercare
- Review & validate BRDs, FDDs, and future‑state payroll processes
- Ensure compliance with UK legislation, HMRC, pensions (TPS, LGPS)
- Participate in Design workshops, CRP, Show & Tell, solution reviews
- Lead Payroll UAT: gross‑to‑net, RTI, statutory payments, pensions, year‑end
- Oversee Payroll data migration, reconciliation & parallel runs
- Support knowledge transfer and BAU readiness
Qualifications
- 6+ years in HR/Payroll system implementations
- Experience in UK Higher Education Payroll
- Strong understanding of UK payroll rules, RTI, pensions
- Experience in workshops, UAT, parallel runs
- Ability to review & challenge configuration
- Prior client‑side SME experience on ERP/HCM transformations
- Understanding of HE complexities (multiple contracts, academic pay scales)
- Strong governance awareness
