The Agile Project Manager will be responsible for planning, leading, organizing, and motivating Agile project teams to achieve a high level of performance and quality in delivering products that provide exceptional business value. This role will manage several concurrent high visibility projects using Agile methodologies in a fast-paced environment that may cross multiple business divisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Agile Project Management: Lead and manage software development projects utilizing Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, or Lean. Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders. Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents. Ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
- Team Leadership and Collaboration: Lead and motivate project team members and associated stakeholders to achieve project goals. Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospective meetings. Ensure the development team is practicing the core Agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility. Remove impediments and coach the team on removing impediments.
- Stakeholder Management: Act as the point of contact for internal and external customers and stakeholders regarding project status and deliverables. Manage stakeholder expectations through effective communication and ensure stakeholders are engaged and aware of the project’s progress and any obstacles that arise. Communicate project risks and issues and provide mitigation strategies.
- Continuous Improvement: Promote continuous improvement by adhering to Lean/Agile principles and practices. Develop and implement operational procedures to improve efficiency and quality. Stay current on industry trends and best practices in Agile frameworks.
- Risk Management: Identify and manage project risks and develop mitigation plans. Monitor and report on project progress, risks, and issues, and provide options to resolve.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM, or equivalent Agile Project Management certification is highly desirable.
- Minimum of years of experience in project management in an Agile environment.
- Thorough understanding of Agile software development methodologies, values, and procedures.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and concisely.
- Experience with project management tools such as JIRA, Trello, Confluence, or similar.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Self-motivated with the ability to adapt to changes and adjust priorities as required.
