Mastek is expanding its Oracle EPM capability in the UK to support growing demand across Local Government, Councils, and Higher Education. We are looking for a client-facing Solution Architect with deep EPM expertise and proven public sector experience to lead high-impact transformation programmes.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a client-facing, hands-on architecture role. You will lead the solution design across EPM implementations and transformation programmes, owning the end-to-end architecture from requirements through to go-live — and acting as the senior EPM authority in front of finance directors, council heads, and university CFOs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Solution Design & Architecture
- Lead the end-to-end solution architecture for Oracle Cloud EPM implementations — Planning, Financial Consolidation & Close, Profitability and Cost Management, Account Reconciliation, Tax Reporting, Narrative Reporting
- Translate complex public sector finance requirements into well-structured Oracle EPM solutions
- Design integrations between Oracle EPM and source systems
- Define data models, metadata structures, business rules, and security frameworks aligned to public sector reporting needs
- Lead architecture reviews, design authority sign-offs, and quality gates across the delivery lifecycle
- Client Engagement & Advisory
- Act as the senior EPM voice in client conversations — engaging finance directors, S151 Officers, university finance leaders, and IT executives
- Run discovery workshops, requirements sessions, and solution walkthroughs with confidence and clarity
- Translate public sector finance challenges — budget setting, statutory reporting, CIPFA compliance, OfS regulatory returns — into EPM-led solutions
- Advise clients on EPM best practice, roadmap planning, and adoption strategies
- Delivery & Team Leadership
- Own technical delivery accountability for EPM workstreams — guiding functional consultants, developers, and offshore teams
- Conduct design and code reviews to ensure quality, performance, and adherence to Oracle best practice
- Coach and mentor junior EPM consultants, building UK capability for the practice
- Contribute to pre-sales activities — proposal writing, solution shaping, effort estimation, and client presentations
- Practice Development
- Develop public sector-specific EPM accelerators, templates, and reference architectures
- Stay current with Oracle EPM Cloud quarterly releases and translate new features into client value
- Represent Mastek at Oracle EPM partner forums, public sector events, and CIPFA / UCISA conferences where relevant
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Essential
- 8+ years of Oracle EPM experience — with at least 3 years as a Solution Architect or equivalent senior design role
- Strong hands-on expertise across Oracle Cloud EPM modules: Planning (EPBCS), and working knowledge around other modules - Financial Consolidation (FCCS), Account Reconciliation (ARCS), Profitability & Cost Management (PCMCS), Narrative Reporting
- Demonstrable UK Local Government or Higher Education EPM implementation experience — minimum two full-lifecycle public sector implementations
- Experience integrating EPM with Oracle Cloud ERP and/or third-party finance systems used in UK public sector
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Eligibility to work in the UK and willingness to undergo public sector security clearance (BPSS / SC)
Desirable
- Oracle EPM Cloud certifications (Planning, FCCS, or equivalent)
- Prior experience at a Big 4, Mastek competitor, or boutique EPM consultancy delivering UK public sector
- Knowledge of OneStream, Anaplan, or other EPM platforms — useful for client conversations during evaluation phases
- Experience with public sector procurement frameworks (G-Cloud, Crown Commercial Service)
- Exposure to AI-led EPM enhancements — predictive planning, IPM, AI-powered narrative reporting
