The Solution Architect for ERP Cloud Financials is responsible for designing, governing, and delivering end-to-end solutions within the organization's cloud-based ERP ecosystem. This role ensures that the ERP Financials capabilities (e.g., GL, AP, AR, FA, CM, FP&A) align with business strategy, enterprise architecture principles, and industry best practices. The architect works closely with business leaders, functional SMEs, technical teams, and implementation partners to translate financial processes into scalable, secure, high-performing ERP solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Solution Design & Architecture: Lead the overall solution architecture for ERP Cloud Financial modules (e.g., General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Cash Management, Project Financials). Translate business requirements into scalable, integrated, end-to-end financial system designs. Develop solution blueprints, data models, integration designs, and configuration standards. Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture principles, security policies, and regulatory compliance.
- ERP Implementation & Delivery: Provide architectural leadership through all phases of the ERP lifecycle—planning, design, build, testing, deployment, and support. Review and validate functional designs, technical specifications, extensions, customizations, and integration points. Oversee migration and data conversion strategy for financial data (COA, balances, subledger transactions). Work with project managers to estimate effort, prioritize features, and manage risks.
- Integration & Technology Leadership: Define integration strategies between ERP Cloud and surrounding systems (HCM, Procurement, CRM, banking platforms, data warehouses, reporting tools). Evaluate and recommend middleware platforms, APIs, EDI capabilities, and automation tools (e.g., RPA). Ensure that integrations follow modern architecture standards—REST/SOAP APIs, event‑driven patterns, security protocols, etc.
- Governance & Best Practices: Enforce ERP configuration standards, naming conventions, and development guidelines. Conduct design reviews, identify gaps, and provide recommendations to optimize system performance and usability. Maintain solution documentation, architectural diagrams, process flows, and data lineage models. Support SOX, audit, compliance, and internal controls requirements.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with Finance leadership (CFO, Controllers, FP&A, Treasury) to understand strategic goals and process improvement opportunities. Facilitate workshops and design sessions with business and IT stakeholders. Act as a trusted advisor to business teams and leadership on ERP strategy, capabilities, and roadmap.
- Continuous Improvement: Monitor new ERP Cloud releases and assess impacts to business processes. Drive adoption of new features, automation opportunities, and optimization initiatives. Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovation opportunities within the ERP ecosystem.
Qualifications & Skills Experience
- 8-12+ years of experience in ERP Financials; at least 3-5 years in a cloud ERP environment. Proven experience in designing and implementing end-to-end ERP financial solutions. Strong background in financial processes: GL, AP, AR, FA, CM, Projects, Revenue, Consolidations. Experience with complex integrations, financial reporting tools, and data migration. Experience working with large enterprises, global implementations, or multi-entity environments.
- Technical & Functional Skills: Deep knowledge of ERP Cloud Financial modules (Oracle Cloud). Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial compliance, and internal controls. Proficiency in integration technologies (REST APIs, SOAP, middleware platforms). Ability to create architecture diagrams using tools like Visio, Lucidchart, or ArchiMate. SQL knowledge and familiarity with data structures preferred.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to influence and drive decisions across cross-functional teams. Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic, and global environments.
