The Lead Tester ensures high-quality digital products by shaping and leading testing practices across the Digital Delivery function. As part of a large change programme, the role will oversee and define the end-to-end test strategy for the programme, ensuring consistent quality standards and a robust approach to testing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and guide a small in-house testing team.
  • Manage all testing activities and ensure quality assurance.
  • Review and improve testing approaches and promote automation.
  • Establish testing practices within Agile environments.
  • Implement and maintain a functional and non-functional test strategy.
  • Communicate risks clearly to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with external testing partners.
  • Promote test-driven and test-led development.

Minimum & Essential Criteria

  • Senior test management experience.
  • Experience in Agile testing environments.
  • Experience in test-driven development.
  • Strong understanding of the Test Pyramid.
  • Experience in test automation and CI/CD.
  • Expertise in test management methods and tools.
  • Ability to embed operational resilience.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Understanding of technology, architecture, and security best practices.
  • Strong stakeholder-management skills.

Desirable

  • Experience in highly automated Agile environments.
  • Experience coaching others.
