We are seeking a detail-oriented and data-driven Grid Analyst to join our client’s fast-growing team in the sustainable energy and utilities sector. The ideal candidate will have strong experience working with grid connection applications, network capacity studies, and grid impact assessments for renewable energy projects, battery storage, or EV infrastructure.
You will provide technical and regulatory insights that directly support the integration of low-carbon technologies into the electricity grid. This is a key role for someone passionate about shaping the future of smart grids, distributed energy resources, and energy transition across the UK.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct grid connection feasibility studies and prepare grid impact assessments
- Support DNO and TSO applications (including G99/G100, Statement of Works)
- Model electrical networks to assess capacity, constraints, and reinforcement needs
- Collaborate with internal engineering, development, and project delivery teams
- Interpret network data from National Grid, DSO, and UKPN
- Monitor grid policy changes and provide technical/regulatory updates to stakeholders
- Prepare documentation and coordinate with grid operators and third parties
- Provide strategic input to renewable energy developers on optimal connection strategies
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of UK electricity networks (DNO/TSO)
- Experience with grid connection processes, G99 applications, and National Grid ESO data
- Proficiency in power systems modelling tools (e.g., PSS/E, DigSilent PowerFactory, IPSA)
- Solid understanding of network planning, grid codes, and system balancing
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
Desired Skills
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, or similar field
