We are now looking to recruit a Farm Saved Seed (FSS) Operator / Engineer to join our team on a full time, permanent basis. The role will involve travelling from our Luton site (MK44) to customer farms in order to maintain and run plant based machinery. Successful candidates will be highly self motivated with a desire to succeed within an extremely busy seasonal agricultural business.

What you’ll do:

  • Maintain & run FSS Machinery ensuring it is fit for purpose and running smoothly.
  • Operate and maintain seed cleaning and treatment machinery.
  • Travel to farm sites to process farm saved seed.
  • Work closely with customers to meet their requirements.
  • Work flexibly to meet seasonal demand and help with ad-hoc on-farm or site tasks.

What you’ll bring:

  • Some experience in agriculture, farming, or machine operation (essential).
  • Strong communication and team work skills and a proactive, reliable approach.
  • A genuine interest in the agricultural sector.
  • HGV, PA1 & PA11 would be an advantage however relevant training will be provided.
  • Willingness to undertake manual handling and outdoor work in all weather.
  • Flexibility to travel across the region and work extended overtime hours, especially during peak season.
