Masstemps are currently recruiting for an experienced warehouse supervisor to join a successfull and expanding warehousing company based in Worcester.

To efficiently run the onsite operations for the store deliveries and warehouse.

This rolerequires a "hands-on" leader who can manage stock integrity, ensure accurate loading for dispatch, and maintain constant communication with customers and agencies.

You will act as the bridge between the warehouse floor and the Contract Manager, ensuring that plans are executed to high standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Route Planning & Transport Management

Optimisation: Plan, schedule, and optimise daily delivery and collection routes tomaximise efficiency, fuel economy, and timely service.

Use transport management systems(TMS) or planning software where required.

  • Fleet and Resource Management: Coordinate vehicle movements and allocate driverworkloads effectively to ensure all runs are covered.
  • Driver Dispatch: Prepare delivery folders with store guides and keys. Ensure fuel cards and truck keys are handed out correctly and signed for.
  • Agency Management: Liaise immediately with agencies if drivers or drives mates (DMs)fail to show, ensuring cover is found to minimise disruption.
  • Warehouse Operations & Stock Control
  • Operational Coordination: Collaborate closely with warehouse teams to manage loadplanning, vehicle loading, and dispatch accuracy.
  • International Offload: Oversee the offload of trucks (specifically from Spain), ensuringproduct is sorted and segregated correctly immediately upon arrival.
  • Dispatch Accuracy: Oversee the loading of vehicles to ensure they match the plan. Check every pallet to ensure no boxes have been mixed into the wrong store's order.
  • Inventory Control: Assist with receiving, storing, picking, and scanning inbound products. Ensure accurate inventory records are maintained.
  • Specials & Transfers: Document and photograph any "special" items and email the customer with details immediately.

Ensure all stock transfers and special requests are physically carried out and logged.

  • Stacking Standards: Enforce specific stacking standards (e. g., LPR pallets stacked 15-highand inline).

• Communication and Administration

  • Customer Updates: Act as the main point of contact for the customer during offloads; provide regular updates and answer operational queries promptly.

Reporting: Maintain accurate records, delivery notes, and manifests.

Updateoperational spreadsheets daily and manage email inboxes to ensure a smooth flow of information.

  • Debriefing: Conduct driver debriefs post-shift to ensure all paperwork is completed correctly (e. g., checking route sheets before drivers leave).
  • Escalation: Report any DMs who have not filled in their paperwork or agency staff who failto sign in.
  • Health and Safety
  • Ensure full compliance with Health and Safety standards within the warehouse and yard.
  • Ensure all staff wear appropriate PPE and monitor safe use of MHE (Material Handling Equipment).
  • Report all accidents, near misses, or damages immediately.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

• Experience & Knowledge

  • Proven Experience: Background in transport planning, logistics coordination, or a similarwarehouse/logistics supervisor role.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: A solid understanding of transport regulations and health and safety protocols.
  • IT Skills: Strong Excel skills (updating logs/spreadsheets).
