Masstemps is currently recruiting for an experienced Sheet Metal Worker to join a well-established and busy manufacturing company based near the Walsall area.
THE ROLE
- Set up and operate press brakes to fold and form sheet metal components to specification
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and job sheets accurately
- Operate guillotines, punch presses, plasma cutters, and folding machines safely and efficiently
- Measure, mark out, and cut sheet metal using hand tools and power tools
- Fabricate ductwork and associated components in accordance with quality standards
- Set and adjust tooling on press brakes for different bend angles, radii, and material types
- Carry out quality checks on finished components, identifying and correcting faults
- Work from technical drawings to produce bespoke ductwork and general fabrication items
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area in line with health & safety procedures
- Carry out routine maintenance checks on machinery and report faults promptly
- Work efficiently to meet production deadlines and job scheduling requirements
- Liaise with the workshop team and supervisors regarding job progress and priorities
- Handle and stack materials safely, including use of relevant lifting equipment where required
ABOUT YOU
- Proven background in sheet metal work / fabrication (essential)
- Demonstrable experience setting and operating press brakes
- Confident working with guillotines, punch presses, plasma cutters, and folding machines
- Competent and safe use of hand tools and power tools
- Ability to read and work from engineering/technical drawings
- Good understanding of sheet metal properties, tolerances, and finishes
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
- Ductwork or ventilation industry experience is an advantage but not essential
- Relevant health & safety training/certification (e.g. manual handling, PPE awareness) desirable

PAY RATE
£12.71ph - £15.00ph dependant on experience
