Masstemps is currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist to join a well-established and busy manufacturing company based near the Walsall area.
THE JOB:
- Set and operate Star CNC lathes to manufacture components to drawing and job specifications.
- Set tooling, work holding, offsets and machine parameters for different production runs.
- Operate CNC machines safely and efficiently, ensuring production output meets the build plan and required targets.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances and job specifications.
- Carry out first-off and in-process inspections using micrometres, verniers and other measuring equipment.
- Make tooling and offset adjustments to maintain component quality and dimensional accuracy.
- Monitor machine performance and identify issues affecting production, quality or cycle times.
- Change tools and make adjustments as required to maintain consistent production.
- Complete production paperwork, quality checks and traceability records.
- Work to company health & safety and quality procedures at all times.
- Assist with setting and operating HAAS and Dugard machining centres where required.
- Support other operators and contribute to maintaining an efficient production area.
ABOUT YOU:
- Previous experience as a CNC Setter/Operator within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Experience operating CNC Lathes is essential.
- Experience setting tooling, offsets, workholding and machine parameters.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Experience using measuring equipment such as verniers, micrometers and gauges.
- Ability to make basic tooling and offset adjustments to maintain component quality.
- Experience working to production targets and build plans.
- Knowledge of HAAS and/or Dugard machining centres would be desirable.
- Good understanding of CNC machining processes, tooling and cutting conditions.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and quality.

Monday - Friday
13:30pm - 22:00pm
Pay Rate
£13 - 15ph
