The predicted salary is between 12.71 - 12.71 Β£ per hour.

Masstemps is currently recruiting for an experienced Toolmaker to join a well-established and busy manufacturing company based near the West Bromwich area.

THE ROLE

  • Manufacture, assemble and repair precision tooling, jigs, fixtures, dies and press tools to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Set and operate conventional and CNC machine tools including milling machines, lathes, grinders and machining centres.
  • Work on multi-stage tooling and precision components, maintaining tight tolerances and high standards of accuracy.
  • Use CNC wire erosion and other specialist machining processes where required.
  • Read and interpret detailed engineering drawings, tolerances and technical specifications.
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, feeds and machining methods for different materials and components.
  • Carry out fitting, bench work, hand finishing and assembly of tooling to achieve accurate fits and finishes.
  • Inspect components using verniers, micrometers, gauges and other precision measuring equipment.
  • Identify and rectify machining or fitting issues to ensure tooling meets required specifications.
  • Carry out modifications, maintenance and repairs to existing tooling as required.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment while following company health and safety procedures.
  • Work closely with engineers and other workshop staff to complete bespoke tooling and precision engineering projects within required deadlines.

ABOUT YOU

  • Previous experience working as a Toolmaker within an engineering or toolroom environment.
  • Strong experience manufacturing, repairing and modifying press tools, dies, jigs and fixtures.
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings and work accurately to tight tolerances.
  • Competent with manual machining processes including milling, turning, drilling and grinding.
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers and gauges.
  • CNC machining and/or wire erosion experience would be advantageous.
  • Strong fitting, assembly, fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Ideally time-served or apprentice-trained with a relevant engineering qualification.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a small engineering team.

HOURS OF WORK

Monday – Thursday - 06:00am - 14:00pm
Friday - 06:00am - 12:00pm (39 hours per week)

Pay Rate Β£12.71ph
